Chapter 2 – User Interface Overview OVERVIEW OF THE INFINITY 510 USER INTERFACE ESTABLISHING A HUMAN INTERFACE Connect by SSH As described in Chapter 1, there are two methods for establishing a Human Interface with the INfinity 510 Reader: Secure Shell (SSH) and serial terminal emulator. This section chapter describes how to open these connections. Before establishing an SSH connection with the reader, you must first obtain the IP address of the reader. To obtain the IP address,use the Reader Startup Tool (RST). Refer to the INfinity 510 User’s Guide for information on using RST. Establish SSH Client 1 Establish an SSH client with PuTTY or similar application. 2 Enter the IP address of the reader. 3 Press Open. 4 INfinity 510 Protocol Reference Guide
Chapter 2 – User Interface Overview 4 Select Data in the tree on the left and enter: cliuser in the username field. 5 Do not enter a password. 6 Press Open and the Command Line Interface (CLI) becomes available. 7 Enter commands at the prompt. Connect with Serial Terminal Emulator Start HyperTerminal Session 1 Start HyperTerminal and select New Connection. 2 Enter a connection name and press OK. 3 Select COM1 and press OK. 4 Select Baud rate = 115200, Data bits = 8 , Stop bits = 1, Parity = none, and Flow control = none. 5 Select OK and a new terminal session will start. 6 Enter reader commands at the prompt.
