reader.bind<br />

While this command is still functional for backward compatibility reasons, it<br />

has been superceded by reader.events.bind(). Please use<br />

reader.events.bind() in any future applications.<br />

reader.check_service<br />

This function checks the status of a system service. The information<br />

returned could be one of the following:<br />

is alive, pid=<br />

is not running<br />

is dead, last know pid=<br />

The following example gets the status of the discovery service:<br />

>>> reader.check_service(discovery)<br />

ok<br />

discovery is alive, pid=14573<br />
