Act as a resource for new faculty members <strong>and</strong> for those who may<br />
want to start research in diabetes/cardiovascular diseases.<br />
Present scientific research at national <strong>and</strong> international scientific<br />
conferences.<br />
Publish scientific research in national <strong>and</strong> international scientific<br />
journals.<br />
Cooperate <strong>and</strong> liaise with any local, national or international<br />
agency with similar research interests.<br />
Train post-doctoral, doctoral, masters <strong>and</strong> bachelors degree<br />

Act as a resource unit on diabetes <strong>and</strong> cardiovascular diseases.<br />

Annual Workshop on Diabetes Mellitus <strong>and</strong> Its<br />
Complications, March 22, 2008<br />
The DCRG organized a one-day Annual Workshop on Diabetes<br />
Mellitus <strong>and</strong> Its Complications on Saturday, March 22, 2008 at<br />
the Faculty <strong>of</strong> <strong>Medicine</strong> & <strong>Health</strong> <strong>Science</strong>s, <strong>United</strong> Arab Emirates<br />
University. The Workshop attracted more than 400 delegates<br />
across the UAE <strong>and</strong> abroad. The Workshop covered different<br />
areas <strong>of</strong> diabetes including New Treatment options for Type 2<br />
Diabetes, Hypertension in Diabetes: A double jeopardy <strong>and</strong><br />
Assessment <strong>of</strong> Physical Activity <strong>and</strong> Dietary Practices among<br />
Diabetic Patients in Al-Ain District
