• Development of a trauma registry (Abu-Zidan,
Shaban).
• Development of a residency management
website which includes resident personal
information, rotations, assessments, evaluations,
and a logbook (Shaban, Safi).
Technical support
The Department of Medical Education provides
technical assistance for research and researchers
through the Media Center, an in-house
production unit. The Center offers the graphics,
photography and audiovisual services. Faculty
members and students make use of these
services for journal submissions, poster
presentations at professional conferences,
seminars, workshops and conferences , student
research activities and other Faculty reports.
The Graphics section assists faculty and students
with the preparation of scientific posters. The
100 or more posters generated each year are
electronically archived and accessible to FMHS
members. This section also provides support for
PowerPoint presentations and image editing
on a daily basis, as well as producing artwork,
leaflets and brochures to support student and
staff professional activities.
During 2008 academic year, the Audio-Visual
section in conjunction with the photography
section serviced all research related activities
organized by the FMHS. A photographic record
of these events is published on a regular basis
on the FMHS website. The photography section
also produces a significant number of laboratory
specimen photographs and is responsible for
digitizing radiology material for journal
publication.
The Audio-Visual section provides complete
audio-visual equipment and support for
auditoria, theaters, classroom and other units
such as surgical skills and teaching laboratories
and other activities. Video filming, editing and
duplication, video streaming production and
audio recording, among others for research
presentations are also services provided by this
section.
