Confocal image of a section of the fifth lumbar dorsal root ganglion
showing isolectin B4 (IB4) labelled neurons (green) and cholera toxin
subunit B (CTb) labelled neurons (red) from a rat which had IB4 and
CTb injection into the sciatic nerve. IB4 and CTb were used as
neuroanatomical tracers to label umyelianted neurons which are
involved in pain sensation and myelinated neurons which are
involved in touch sensation respectively.
