The goal of this course is to raise the reading efficiency and analytical ability of each student to<br />
a level that enables him/her to deal effectively with the complex material he/she encounters<br />

HUMN 216 Women: Myth and Reality:<br />
Concepts, images, myths, archetypes, and stereotypes pertaining to women in fiction and<br />
in theory. What men have said about women in contrast to what women have said about<br />

HUMN 226 Business, Values, and Modern America:<br />
The emergence of modern forms of business and the relationship of business to society.<br />
The socialization process one undergoes upon entering a modern business or corporation.<br />

HUMN 295 Topics in Humanities:<br />
Offered in response to particular interests of students and faculty. Intensive study of a theme<br />

Information Assurance And Security<br />
IASP 310 Information Assurance and Control Systems: Protection:<br />
This course will introduce students to Information System threats and vulnerabilities; techniques<br />
to protect the system pro-actively from both internal and external threats; review of software<br />
and hardware products for system security. Students will complete hands-on assignments for<br />
testing and evaluating various techniques. Prerequisite: CISC257. 3 sem hrs. 3 crs.<br />
COURSE DESCRIPTIONS<br />
IASP 320 Information Assurance and Control Systems: Recovery:<br />
This course continues the introduction of Information Security and Control Systems. The focus<br />
is on the information recovery. It will introduce students to Information System techniques<br />
to detect incidents and information recovery; review of software and hardware products for<br />
information system recovery. Students will complete hands-on assignments for testing and<br />
evaluating various recovery techniques. Prerequisite: IASP 310. 3 sem hrs. 3 crs.<br />
IASP 321 Linux Administration:<br />
This course focuses on the administration of LINUX in a secured networked environment.<br />
Students will be introduced to the installation and configuration of LINUX, along with the<br />
use of command-line LINUX commands and scripting languages. Special emphasis will be<br />
placed on the installation and configuration of popular LINUX services such as SSH, HTTP,<br />
FTP, SMTP, Samba, MySQL, IPTABLES firewall, etc. Hardening of the LINUX kernel will<br />
also be discussed to make students aware how a LINUX system could be made more secure.<br />
Prerequisite: CISC120. 3 sem hrs. 3 crs.<br />
IASP 330 Disaster Recovery / Business Continuity<br />
Discusses the applied methodologies used to plan and recover systems and business processes<br />
when faced with various types of recovery scenarios. The course will cover how disaster<br />
preparedness directly correlates to the ability to then continue business operations. Prerequisite:<br />
CISC120. 3 sem hrs. 3 crs.<br />
IASP 430 Forensic/Electronic Discovery:<br />
This course introduces techniques required for conducting a forensic analysis on systems<br />
and data. The theories directly correlate to methods used to recover/restore data for various<br />
requirements, ranging from litigation to fraud based investigations. Prerequisite: CISC257 and<br />
CISC220. 3 sem hrs. 3 crs.
