Rockland Community <strong>College</strong> Transfer Scholarship<br />

Awarded annually to an outstanding Rockland Community <strong>College</strong> graduate majoring<br />

in Business. The student is selected by Rockland Community <strong>College</strong> faculty.<br />

Westchester Community <strong>College</strong> Transfer Scholarship<br />

Awarded annually to an outstanding Westchester Community <strong>College</strong> graduate<br />

majoring in Business. Students are selected by Westchester Community <strong>College</strong><br />

faculty.<br />

Career Opportunities in Research (COR) Program Sponsored by the National<br />

Institute of Mental Health<br />

The main purpose of this comprehensive Career Opportunities in Research (COR)<br />

Program is to improve the chances of <strong>Mercy</strong> <strong>College</strong> undergraduates to gain entry and<br />

successfully complete graduate school programs for Ph.D. and/or M.D. Degrees to<br />

pursue research careers in mental health. A few <strong>Mercy</strong> <strong>College</strong> scholars will be selected<br />

each year as COR Trainees to receive 1-2 years of full-time enhanced education at <strong>Mercy</strong><br />

<strong>College</strong> in conjunction with research training and research experience at the NYS<br />

Psychiatric Institute in Manhattan during their junior and/or senior years. Program<br />

participants receive tuition assistance as well as stipend support in addition to other<br />

support services including tutoring, financial aid counseling, study skills workshops,<br />

preparation for graduate school admission exams, and assistance with the graduate<br />

school application process.<br />

TUITION, Expenses, AND<br />

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE<br />

This program is open to all <strong>Mercy</strong> <strong>College</strong> students who meet the eligibility criteria and<br />

who apply prior to the junior and/or senior year. Participants must have a minimum<br />

3.2 GPA, have completed the college general education curriculum, be a US citizen or<br />

permanent resident. To be considered the COR application must be submitted and an<br />

interview by COR staff is required.<br />

Computer Science, Engineering, and Mathematics Scholarship Program<br />

sponsored by the National Science Foundation<br />

This scholarship provides tuition support as well as support for other expenses such<br />

as books, supplies, fees and equipment. To be eligible students must be a declared<br />

Computer Science, Computer Information Systems or Mathematics major and have<br />

completed at least CISC 231; must be a U.S. citizen or national; must be PELL eligible<br />

and have a minimum 3.0 GPA and be a full-time student. Selection is made by the<br />

Department of Mathematics and Computer Science and is competitive.<br />

U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Scholarship for<br />

Communication Disorders<br />

Scholarships are available for disadvantaged students through a grant from the United<br />

States Department of Health and Human Services. Funding is available for students<br />

who have been accepted into the Bachelor’s Degree program in Communication<br />

Disorders.<br />

MOBILE: <strong>Mercy</strong> Opportunities in Bilingual Education<br />

Para-professionals or provisionally certified teachers interested in careers in Bilingual<br />

Education may be eligible for assistance through the MOBILE program. MOBILE is a
