Co-Curricular and Student Life<br />

Students should consult the <strong>Mercy</strong> <strong>College</strong> Student Handbook for a more detailed view<br />

of student life.<br />

Athletics<br />

<strong>Mercy</strong> <strong>College</strong> sponsors intercollegiate competition in men’s baseball, basketball, crosscountry,<br />

lacrosse, soccer, and outdoor track & field. Women’s intercollegiate sports<br />

include basketball, cross-country, lacrosse, soccer, softball, outdoor track & field, and<br />

volleyball.<br />

<strong>Mercy</strong> <strong>College</strong>’s teams attract a great deal of attention throughout the area. The<br />

women’s basketball and volleyball teams both made ECC Tournament appearances<br />

in 2008-09. The <strong>Mercy</strong> <strong>College</strong> men's soccer team advanced to the ECC Tournament<br />

in 2007, and captured a conference championship in 2004. The cross-country team is<br />

a regular participant in the NCAA Eastern Regional Championships. The <strong>College</strong><br />

started a women's soccer program in fall 2000, and added men's and women's lacrosse<br />

in the fall of 2008.<br />

Students may arrange to make recreational use of all the <strong>College</strong>’s athletic facilities,<br />

which include a baseball diamond, softball diamond, outdoor handball and basketball<br />

courts, running track and soccer field, as well as the gymnasium, fitness center, and five<br />

tennis courts. The <strong>Mercy</strong> <strong>College</strong> athletic teams (at the Dobbs Ferry Campus only) are<br />

members of the following:<br />

• East Coast Conference<br />

• National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division II<br />

• Eastern <strong>College</strong> Athletic Association (ECAC) Division II<br />

• Collegiate Track Conference<br />

Campus Ministry<br />

The religious atmosphere at <strong>Mercy</strong> <strong>College</strong> is non-denominational. Spiritual counseling<br />

is available to all students through the services of a minister, priest or rabbi, available<br />

to discuss religious and personal matters with interested students. For additional<br />

Career Services<br />

The Career Services staff is available at each campus to assist students with all aspects<br />

of career and educational planning. To assist students in understanding the role of the<br />

Career Services at three integral levels of the college experience the Career Services<br />

staff has developed the Career Level Seminar program. We strongly urge students who<br />

are new to <strong>Mercy</strong> with fewer than 45 credits participate in the Level I Seminar, that
