Immunization Program<br />
All students born after January 1, 1957, are required to show proof of immunity against<br />
measles, mumps, and rubella. Please see page 11 for details.<br />
Non-Discrimination Policy<br />
The policy of <strong>Mercy</strong> <strong>College</strong> is that discrimination against any individual for reasons<br />
of gender, race, creed, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, age, marital or<br />
parental status, ethnicity, citizenship status, veteran or military status, disability or for<br />
any other legally protected basis is specifically prohibited. This includes discriminatory<br />
language, gestures, and written or electronic communication. Accordingly, equal access<br />
to educational programs, employment opportunities, and all other <strong>College</strong> activities is<br />

Off-Campus Student Housing<br />
The Residential Life Office, located in the Residence Hall, Room 3, maintains a list of<br />
rooms and apartments available in the surrounding area. The <strong>College</strong> has received this<br />
information from persons or companies that wish to rent those rooms or apartments<br />
to students at the college, and the <strong>College</strong> is making this information available as a<br />
service to its students.<br />
New Student Orientation<br />
Students entering <strong>Mercy</strong> <strong>College</strong> for the first time are invited to an orientation held at<br />
the beginning of the fall semester. Separate orientation programs generally are planned<br />
for first year students and transfer students, residence hall students, and international<br />
students. At Orientation, new students meet members of the administration, staff and<br />
faculty to discuss programs, services and opportunities that are vital elements of life<br />
at <strong>Mercy</strong> <strong>College</strong>. For online students, there is an online orientation that walks the<br />
student through the taking of an actual online course. Transfer students who have<br />
previously participated in the collegiate experience are given information about those<br />
programs and services that are unique to <strong>Mercy</strong> <strong>College</strong>.<br />
Public Information Policy<br />
The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 specifically provides that a<br />
school may provide what is termed “directory information” to third parties when<br />
a legitimate request is made in writing. <strong>Mercy</strong> <strong>College</strong> may occasionally release<br />
“directory information,” without the student’s consent. Directory information includes<br />
the following: the student’s name, address, telephone number, date and place of birth,
