The study of the history, principles, rules and practical application in various recreational<br />
activities. Included are: badminton, tennis, volleyball, platform tennis, bowling, and golf.<br />
This course is designed to provide the student with a lifelong recreational activity after the<br />

PHED 109 Self-Defense I:<br />
This course is designed to aid the student in attaining a level of physical fitness while also<br />
gaining fundamental knowledge of the principles and tactics of self-defense, in both theory<br />
and practice. 3 crs.<br />
PHED 110 Body Conditioning:<br />
The purpose of this course is to develop a well-rounded conditioning program covering all<br />
phases of motor performance. The course will be used as a guide for a lifetime fitness program<br />
designed for each student. While the student uses the course as a starting point, the ultimate<br />
goal will be to recognize the hazards of unfitness, obesity, and inactivity after college. 3 crs.<br />
