Louvre - Indal successfully gained the French Ministry of Culture’s tender for lighting Esplanade du Carrousel and Cour Napoléon. The Louvre luminaire was created according to specifications drawn up by Hector Lefuel at the end of the 19th century. A good example of Indal’s expertise. It is the result of very precise work: a decorative cast iron worker spend over 120 hours to reproduce the decorative elements (especially the ornate decorations on the luminaire). Accentuating the paths of the palace with a respectful daytime presence, the Louvre luminaire produces soft, uniform lighting at night, which enhances the architectural beauty of the building. To allow excellent perception of the details and their dimensions, the façades are “sculpted” by floodlights installed in the top of the luminaires. Exceptional luminaires • page 27
Louvre The Louvre luminaire is ideally designed for heights of 4 – 5 meters. Presented with Chaumont and Savigny cast iron columns, it also forms elegant assemblies with the Richelieu brackets and multiple-arm brackets. Louvre is available in two traditional optics with road or circular distribution for lighting urban roads, pedestrian paths, squares and parks. The Louvre luminaire shown on this page is made of cast iron in Futura Sanded Grey 900 finish.
