The increase in this source is quite significant as salaries tend to increase with price rise (dearness allowances are given twice a year). Sharper increases are observed in case of BPL households (comparing BLS 2001 and BLS 2007) (table 3.32). On an average, a APL household gets Rs.61249 a year from salaries and a BPL household gets Rs.23442. For nonbaseline households, the corresponding incomes are Rs.44175 for APL household and Rs.18794 for a BPL household. Across districts for APL (both BLS and NBLS households), this source generates much higher income on an average. Table 3.32: Average Salaried Income Rs.
