Procedures: Regulatory Treatment and Certification
Sanitation and Treatment
Sanitation
Various sanitation procedures must be followed from the time a field
is identified as infested with golden nematode until the field is officially
surveyed and confirmed negative for golden nematode to prevent the
spread of the pest.
Procedures deemed appropriate by the officer will be implemented
following each authorized activity on an infested field.
See Sanitation on page 2-3-3 and .
Authorized Pesticides
Steam heat treatment is the established method of fumigating
regulated articles. See T.406C & T.406D in the PPQ Treatment Manual.
Methyl bromide is authorized for treatment of regulated articles for
golden nematode. See Figure 3-1-1.
