Cooperation With Other Agencies<br />

Sometimes the regulations of different Federal, State, and local<br />

agencies govern the same pests. As a result, USDA-APHIS-PPQ<br />

cooperates with the following Federal, State, and local agencies<br />

regarding golden nematode research, survey, and control.<br />

State and Local<br />

The USDA-Agricultural Research Service (ARS) provides assistance<br />

with the <strong>Golden</strong> <strong>Nematode</strong> <strong>Program</strong>.<br />

The New York Department of Agriculture and Markets shares<br />

regulatory responsibility for the <strong>Golden</strong> <strong>Nematode</strong> <strong>Program</strong> with<br />

APHIS. APHIS supports the development of golden nematode-resistant<br />

potato varieties at Cornell University through cooperative agreement.<br />

The New York Certified Seed Potato Improvement Cooperative provides<br />

research. The Extension Service of the Cooperative State Research<br />

Service provides assistance.<br />
