Color and its Use 12.9
color space are identical to those of device gray (i.e. zero to 1, where zero is darkest
and 1 is lightest), but for Calibrated Gray, you must also add to the color space
definition the conditions under which the original colors were viewed.
This color space may not be created from PDEColorSpaceCreateFromName.
When created via PDEColorSpaceCreate, its atom is CalGray and the color
structure must be a PDEGrayCalFlt.
Calibrated RGB
This is a calibrated color space, intended to make use of the knowledge of the display
device’s characteristics to more accurately depict colors. The values are identical to the
DeviceRGB color channels in value and sequence.
This color space may not be created with PDEColorSpaceCreateFromName.
When created with PDEColorSpaceCreate, its atom is CalRGB, and the color
structure must be a PDERGBCalFlt.
CIE Lab
This is a calibrated color space intended to display color. It uses three channels (L, A,
and B) in that order:
• The range of the L channel is always zero to 100.
• The range of the A and B channels are specified within the color space model, but
must always be in the range of -128 to +127.
This color space cannot be created with PDEColorSpaceCreateFromName. When
created with PDEColorSpaceCreate, the atom used to specify this color space is
Lab, and the color structure must be a PDELabCalFlt.
