Overview
Concepts and Facilities: Guide to the DL Pager Composition System
The DLI initialization process has been simplified such that when DLI is initialized, it
automatically initializes the Adobe PDF Library as well. Initialization via DLI also
provides the option of enabling the Datalogics Files In Memory (FIM) system, by
specifying a file system to be used for temporary files and for file input/output
operations.
DLI must be initialized before creating any documents with DLI or making any calls
to the Adobe PDF Library, should be initialized only once per composition program
run, and should be terminated prior to the application shutdown.
Adobe PDF Library Data Structure
Initialization of DLI and the Adobe PDF Library requires a specific collection of
information, maintained in the data structure PDFLDataRec. One such structure
should be created and cleared to zeros before starting the Adobe PDF Library. The
next few sections deal with settings of parts of this structure to prepare for initializing
DLI and the Adobe PDF Library.
