Paths
This sample shows how to draw various simple shapes using DLI, and how to draw
PDF paths with DLI. A path in PDF, like in PostScript, consists of a series of
movements from a starting point. A path is filled with the fill color in the
graphics state, and the lines connecting the movements of the path are drawn with
the stroke color in the graphics state. This sample also demonstrates some
common matrix operations, such as rotations and translations of paths.
For common shapes, DLI has shortcut operations to create paths, such as for
rectangles and arcs.
This sample also demonstrates the use of CMYK color spaces. For an example of
using RGB color spaces, please see “Annotations” on page 17.15.
