You are not limited to a single tree of contents which matches your document. You
may build multiple trees within the outline tree, and you may order material
differently than the way it is ordered in the document. You may use bookmarks to
point out and highlight material in any way that you believe to be useful to a reader of
your document.
The outline tree itself must be a single tree, with a single root node. DLI will handle
the mechanics of constructing the actual tree, allowing you to be concerned only with
its content.
DLI represents the outline tree as a collection of DLPDFOUTLINE structures. These
have a number of properties, in addition to a pointer to the COS structure which this
structure represents. The collection of such structures is the property of a single given
document, and will be destroyed when that document is destroyed.
