Some general applications for the flux leakage method are:
1. Detect and determine the severity of internal and external flaws.
2. Measure ferromagnetic part thickness to 0.3 in.
3. Use differential coils for flaw detection and measurement in seamless, hotrolled
steel tubes.
4. Use absolute coils for flaw detection and measurement in cold-rolled or
cold- rawn steel tubes.
5. Use combination absolute and differential coils for the detection and
measurement of discontinuities, voids, slivers, and inclusions in seamless
and welded tubes.
