• A projectile analysis system for a large ordnance manufacturer.This<br />

system uses three separate EMATs to scan for projectile cracks in three<br />

areas. The system has scanned over 5 million parts to date.<br />

• A girth weld inspection system for large pipes used to anchor off-shore oildrilling<br />

platforms in the North Sea. (See Figure 3.44, 36" girth weld<br />

inspection.)<br />

• Boiler tube pipe inspection. This system uses two separate EMAT<br />

systems—one that scans for flaws in the tubes and another that is a<br />

thickness gauge capable of measuring wall thickness down to 70 mils.<br />
