3.4.2 Hall Effect Sensors<br />

Hall effect probes are popular magnetic flux measuring devices for the<br />

following reasons:<br />

• They are long-life solid-state devices.<br />

• The voltage output of the device can be alternating current or direct current<br />

depending on the current and magnetic field inputs.<br />

• As high-speed switches, they provide bounce-free, contact-free logic level<br />

voltage transfer.<br />

• They have a wide range of operating temperatures (-40°C to +150°C) and<br />

are highly repeatable.<br />
