Configuring the TAINY GMOD-Sx
Character format:..............................................................................
Default: 8N1 (= 8 data bits, non parity, 1 stop bit)
Defines the character format with which the TAINY GMOD-Sx
communicates with the application connected to its COM port.
Permissible values:
7N1, 8E1, 7E1, 8O1, 7O1, 8N2, 7N2, 8E2, 7E2, 8O2, 7O2, 8N1
If you want to change the value use the selection list.
� The character format defined here must match that used by the
connected application.
Ignore RTS
If during a data transmission one of the devices "can't keep up"
it can notify this to the other involved device using the RTS
signal. The other device can then temporarily stop the data
flow. In this way a data overflow and thus loss of data are
avoided.
The TAINY GMOD-Sx is preset such that this type of flow
control, referred to as hardware handshake, is completely
activated, i.e.:
Default for Ignore RTS: NO
Control in connection mode Leased line (LL)
� The parameter setting DTR or Always On can only be
selected if the connection mode LL(=leased line) is being
used – see configuration tab Connection (page 42),
Connection mode in section Connected with.
� DTR
� Always On
This parameter specifies whether and how the TAINY GMOD-Sx is
controlled by the connected application, in order to establish or
maintain the connection to the server in leased line mode (LL).
• If DTR is selected, the TAINY GMOD-Sx only establishes and
terminates a connection to the communication partner when it
receives a DTR signal from the application (e.g. vending
machine, sensor, computer) connected to its COM port.
