7 Remote configuration
Remote configuration
Precondition The TAINY GMOD-Sx has to be configured for remote service –
see Service tab, page 58, in the section Configuring the TAINY
GMOD-Sx.
On the PC used for remote service the following installations are
required:
• Modem for connecting the service PC with TAINY GMOD-Sx
via PSTN and/or GSM network (CSD 9.600 bps)
• a dial-up networking connection configured for remote service
- phone number (data number) under which the
TAINY GMOD-Sx can be reached
- modem(driver) to be used for remote service
- user name and password specified in the TAINY
GMOD-Sx for service access (default: service)
the configuration program TAINY GMOD-SxConfig
Procedure There are three possibilities (A, B and C):

A On the service PC execute the installation program – see
Execute the installation program install.exe, page 23, but skip
the first installation phase Installing the drivers…
Next you are requested to set up a dial-up networking
connection. Specify the modem used to set up the remote
service connection to the TAINY GMOD-Sx, further the phone
number (data number) of the TAINY GMOD-Sx.
In the next (third) phase of the installation, the configuration
program TAINYGPRS-RS232ConfigTSC is installed.
Run the configuration program as usual (see page 37).
The configuration program will use the dial-up networking
connection specified, will load the parameters from the
TAINY GMOD-Sx etc.
