• Assets of Toros Biracılık were acquired along with “Marmara” brand,<br />
increasing the number of breweries of the Group to five in Turkey (1998).<br />
• EBI was established in the Netherlands to carry out the international<br />
brewing operations of the Group (1998).<br />
• Initial public offering of Efes Invest on the Istanbul Stock Exchange and<br />
London Stock Exchange with a free float of 48 percent (1998).<br />
• Turkey’s sole authorized Coca-Cola bottler, Coca-Cola Bottlers of Turkey<br />
(CCBT), was established. Anadolu Efes’ collective stake in CCBT including<br />
the Anadolu Group shares reached 40 percent (1998).<br />
• The Group’s Ploiesti plant, the most modern brewery in Romania<br />
commenced production (1998).<br />
• Moscow Efes Brewery (MEB), the first green-field brewery investment<br />
of the Group in Russia established in partnership with the EBRD and the<br />
Municipality of Moscow, started production (1999).<br />
• “Stary Melnik” brand was launched in Russia (1999).<br />
• Malt production commenced in Moscow Efes Brewery (1999).<br />
2000’s<br />
• The Group merged its four publicly listed brewing and malting companies<br />
(Erciyas Biracılık, Ege Biracılık, Güney Biracılık and Anadolu Biracılık) under<br />
one publicly listed entity “Anadolu Efes” (2000).<br />
• CCBT was restructured under two companies, Coca-Cola İçecek<br />
Üretim (Production Company) and Coca-Cola Satış ve Dağıtım (Sales and<br />
Distribution Company) (2000).<br />
• Anadolu Efes Depository Receipts (DRs) started trading at Level-1 (2002).<br />
• Coca-Cola Bottling operations in Turkey were restructured to operate as a<br />
production company, Coca-Cola İçecek A.Ş. (CCİ) and a sales & marketing<br />
company which becomes a wholly owned subsidiary of CCİ (2002).<br />
• EBI increased its capital by allocating 15 percent of its capital to foreign<br />
institutional investors through a private placement (2002 - 2003).<br />
• Efes Vitanta Moldova Brewery was founded after the acquisition of the<br />
Vitanta Intravest S.A. brewery located in Chisinau, Moldova. In addition<br />
to beer, the Group became a leader in the soft drinks and bottled water<br />
