3.2 Screen Elements (Fields) − Reference
Visual Components uses individual screen elements to create visualization applications. These elements are
called fields in the following sections. A complete visualization project can be created by combining and
configuring a series of these different fields in pictures.
Every field in Visual Components is used, placed, edited, and configured in the same way. Details of these steps
can be found in the User's Manual.
Fields in a Visual Components application are classified into groups according to how they are used. Each one
of these groups is described in its own section in this documentation.
Fields Description
Static Picture
Elements
Static picture elements are used to create the framework for a picture. As a rule, static
elements do not represent any information, nor do they allow any input. Instead, they are
usually used to label, group, and arrange active picture elements.
Static picture elements are only drawn once when the picture is changed. After that, they are
no longer updated. Because of this, they only load the system down the first time the picture
