Password Char For the general operation of dialog boxes. OK Cancel The characters to be displayed in place of the actual characters can be set in Password Char. An asterisk (*) is used by default. This setting is important in Password mode and specifies the character that should be output in place of displaying characters which are input. The character checks that something was entered but does not supply any information about what it actually was. Possible Settings Any individual character which exists in the input field's font set can be chosen. The corresponding (chosen) character is input directly into the field. Default Setting * (asterisk) Buttons Applies settings and closes the dialog box. If settings cannot be applied because of an error, it is indicated and the dialog box is not closed. Note: All changes are applied, including those made under different (hidden) tabs. Closes the dialog box and discards any changes made. Introduction to Visual Components 2.3 Source Assign... Completion Value Used to input or display the connected variable. Possible Settings Name of a UINT process variable. The same variable can be connected to several input fields as a completion data point. Possible Values The variable is set to the value in Completion value after the input field is processed by the user of Visual Components Runtime. Visual Components does not further evaluate the connected variable. The Assign... button opens a dialog box to select a variable for the Source field. By default, only variables of suitable types are displayed. After the input field is processed, the value is written to the process variable specified under Source.
