4.3.15.2 Global Settings − Project Bitmap/Font Editor: A bitmap editor can be defined here. This editor is used to create or edit bitmaps. Any bitmap program can be selected by clicking on 'Browse'. MSPaint is set as the default editor. Unfortunately, the name and directory are not the same on all systems. Therefore, it may be necessary to adjust this setting after installation. Compilation: Generate Text File: The editor generates detailed information about the project in the Automation Studio output window during compilation. In addition, a text file is created with debug information. This option is intended for internal B&R debugging purposes. Compilation is substantially faster if this option is deactivated. Generate Variables by Picture to CSV File: If this option is selected, then a CSV text file is created during compilation. The contents include the entire variable list sorted by picture. This file can be processed later to acquire variables. Grid − Settings: Settings for Grid Display are set here. Show Locked Character Positions: If text layers are active, then the longest text of a language is displayed in gray. This option is no longer supported. All outputs have object properties. The number of characters is defined there. Automatically Open Character Box: A character box (CharBox) is displayed for editing the text.
