Circle colors are globally defined using the foreground and background colors. The global setting applies to all circles which have the Use Global option selected. Each circles may also have individual color settings. Specific colors can be selected for the Foreground and Background by disabling the global settings. The circle is filled with the background color if the Fill option is selected. The foreground color is used for the border of the circle. The optional variable in the Colors Variable field can change circle colors during runtime. The variable has to be of data type UINT. The higher value byte represents the foreground color (0−255). The lower byte represents the background color (0−255) − see also Changing Colors Using Variables. 4.5.5 Arranging Static Picture Components 4.5.5.1 Overlapping Static Objects Using static pictures, Visual Components provides the possibility to draw objects on multiple layers. These layers only apply during the design phase. During runtime, a character sequence is created from them which can no longer be changed. Each static object contains a shortcut menu with which the object can be moved one layer forward or backward. Basically, the order in which the objects were created determines the output layer. Starting from this point, the display can influence overlapping objects using the 'Bring Forward' or 'Send Backward' menus. Tip: Complex graphics should be created with a graphic program and saved as a 256−color bitmap. RGB color values should be considered for optimal results (see Color Palette). Examples: This symbolic illustration of a wrist watch consists of 4 rectangles and a circle. The objects are appropriately placed with each other using the layer function so that they are displayed correctly. All objects can be selected and copied. Individual objects cannot be grouped or combined into one object. The properties of individual objects can be changed later. Tip: If problems arise while selecting objects, then the Tab key can be used to move to the next object. The Shift + Tab combination switches to the previous object.
