This laudable performance wasthe result of sales drives for structuredproducts in several banking networks.Cardif is planning new offers in 2005, tofurther expand its inflows of new moneyand raise its share of the Taiwanesemarket.Cardif and Cortal Consors link-upIn personal risk insurance, <strong>BNP</strong> <strong>Paribas</strong>Assurance’s rapid growth continued apace,generating premium income of EUR 2.3 billionin <strong>2004</strong>, a 19% increase on 2003.• In France, the key contributors to thisperformance were <strong>BNP</strong> <strong>Paribas</strong> branches andthe Cardif network, whose Cardif GarantieEmprunteur personal loan insurance productproved highly successful.• All other countries also contributed to thisgrowth, especially Chile, Poland and Taiwan.In property and casualty insurance, NatioAssurance’s revamped motor insurance offer wasdeveloped in partnership with Axa. It should helpdrive substantial growth in premium income,which amounted to EUR 69 million in <strong>2004</strong>.In order to make the most of a growingdemand for independent assetmanagement advisors, <strong>BNP</strong> <strong>Paribas</strong>Assurance brought together the Cardifand Cortal Consors teams workingin this distribution channel.This link-up has produced a platformthat can sell both Cardif’s life andpersonal risk insurance policies andCortal Consors’s securities accounts.Switzerland is Cardif’s 29th-marketoutside FranceAt the end of <strong>2004</strong>, Cardif was grantedlicences to write life and non-life businessin Switzerland. Operations were launchedin early 2005, in partnership witha consumer credit institute createdby the Zurich Cantonal Bank andother cantonal banks.
