92sustainable development93Communication with shareholders<strong>BNP</strong> <strong>Paribas</strong> endeavours to provide all shareholderswith clear, consistent, high-quality information atregular intervals, in accordance with best marketpractice and the recommendations of the stockmarket authorities.The Investor Relations Department informsinstitutional investors and financial analysts,in France and abroad, of the Group’s strategy,major events concerning the Group’s business and,of course, the Group’s results which are publishedquarterly. In 2005, the financial timetableis as follows (1) :• 3 February 2005: <strong>2004</strong> results announcement;• 12 May 2005: 1st-quarter 2005 figures;• 3 August 2005: 1st-half 2005 resultsannouncement;• 24 November 2005: 3rd-quarter 2005 figures.Informative briefings are organised several timesa year, when the annual and half-year results arereleased, or on specific topics, providing seniormanagement with an opportunity to present the<strong>BNP</strong> <strong>Paribas</strong> Group and its strategy. There is alsoa Relations Officer responsible for liaising withmanagers of ethical and socially responsible funds.The Individual Shareholder Relations departmentinforms and listens to the Group’s 665,000 orso individual shareholders (source: 31 December<strong>2004</strong> “TPI” survey). A half-yearly financialnewsletter informs both members of the “Cercle<strong>BNP</strong> <strong>Paribas</strong>” and other shareholdersof important events concerning the Group,and a summary of the matters discussed duringthe Annual General Meeting is sent out in July.During the year, senior management presentsthe Group’s policy to individual shareholdersat meetings organised in the main French citiesand towns (for example, in <strong>2004</strong> meetingswere held in Nantes on 28 September andin Versailles on 13 October).
