In the face of <strong>change</strong>s in the bankingenvironment and more stringent regulations specificto banking and finance activities, the Grouphas decided to establish a new global function ofCompliance as from 2005. The Head of Compliancewill report directly to the Chief Executive Officerand will have a broad remit over the entire Group.The Head of Compliance will be responsible for:• supervision of the consistency and efficiencyof actions undertaken with regard to ethical rules,and more broadly, with regard to the legislativeand regulatory provisions specific to bankingand finance activities. The Head of Compliancewill be directly in charge of the Ethics functionand actions designed to combat money launderingand corruption; he will also have functionalauthority over Group Legal Affairs in matterspertaining to control and compliance missions;• management and coordination of internal controlthroughout the Group and the chairing of a monthlycommittee composed of the General Inspector,responsible for periodic controls, and the Groupmanagers in charge of Risk, Tax Affairs, LegalAffairs, Ethics, and Finance and Development.The Head of the Compliance function will producethe report on internal control and Compliance.
