The experiment is being run in twoenvironments, the control group performs the tasks in a classic window environment onGNU/Linux, the experimental group performs the task in a very similar environment butaugmented with context restore facilities (this environment is briefly described in section 2).We ask subjects to fill a pre-text questionnaire (this is mainly used to assign subjects toeither the control or experimental group), and a post-test questionnaire in which they areasked several questions that we will use to assess possible differences in the personalperception of interruption in the two groups. All subjects receive instructions and a practicesession where they rehearse with both the computer environment and the tasks that they willhave to perform during the experiment. The activity of the users in the two environments isboth logged and videoed.The hypotheses that we intend to verify are the following:1 Personal perceptionThe users on the enhanced interface perceive work being more pleasant thanthe users on the traditional one.The user feels more productive on the enhanced interface than on thetraditional one.2 Effect on workThe user completes the required tasks faster on the enhanced interface thanon the traditional one.The user completes the required tasks with a better quality (less errors) on theenhanced interface than on the traditional one.The user resumes faster a suspended task on the enhanced interface than onthe traditional one.3 Effect on interface managementThe user is doing fewer interface management actions on the enhancedinterface than on the traditional one.The user is doing fewer mistakes in interface management actions on theenhanced interface than on the traditional one.Del 4.4: AtGentive Final Evaluation Report page 41
