To operate themachine safely and economically, follow the instructionsbelow.PrecautionsDRIVING THE MACHINE1. Check the tires for any damage, such as scratches,cracks, etc..Check the pressure of each tire.Check for obstructions or danger around themachine.2. Raise stabilizers /blade.3. Position the front attachment to the front of themachine, then insert the swing lock lever.4. DRIVING THE MACHINEENGINE SPEED CONTROLThe engine speed control mode, pedal, dial, or creeper, isselected by operating engine control mode selection switch(1). Depending on machine operating conditions, select theproper engine control mode best matching those conditions.1!" Pedal ModeThis mode suits normal travel operation best. Adjustingthe stroke of the forward/reverse travel pedal controlsthe engine speed. When the forward/reverse pedal isstepped on, the engine speed increases. When thepedal is returned to neutral, the engine speed is reduced.After the engine speed is set to run at slow idle speed byfully turning the engine control dial counterclockwise beforetraveling the machine, when traveling is started bystepping the forward/reverse travel pedal, the enginespeed increases in proportion to the pedal stroke. Whenthe pedal is returned to neutral to temporarily stop themachine, the engine speed is reduced to slow idle speed,decreasing fuel consumption and travel noise level.!" Dial ModeThis mode suits traveling at the job site best. Only theengine control dial can control the engine speed irrespectiveof how much the forward/reverse travel pedal isstroked. The engine speed is kept constant while travelingshort distance in the same job site during operationof the front attachment, no readjustment of the enginespeed is required. However, the maximum travel speedis slightly slower than that in the pedal mode.MCBB-01-014!" Creeper ModeThe machine can travel at very slow speed. The enginespeed is controlled with the engine control dial only.Even if the engine control dial is turned fully clockwise toset the engine speed to fast idle speed and the forward/reversetravel pedal is fully stepped on, the machinecan travel at very slow speed. All functions otherthan traveling can be operated at normal speed in thismode. Therefore, it is very convenient to engage in frontattachment work while moving the machine at very slowspeed.4-2
