Bleed Air from Travel Transmission (Gear Shift HydraulicCircuit)IMPORTANT: Air trapped in the travel transmissiongearshift hydraulic circuit will cause erraticoperation in the gearshift system.When the transmission gearshift hydraulicline is disassembled and/or hydraulicoil is changed, be sure to bleedair.The travel transmission gear shift system is operated withhydraulic pressure. Air trapped in the system must be bledafter disassembling the transmission gearshift hydrauliccircuit and/or changing the hydraulic oil. Bleed air with ateamwork of two persons by following the procedure below.ZAXIS130W, 160WMCBB-07-0761. Start the engine. Lower the bucket on level and solidsurface. Place the brake switch in the column box tothe S (service brake) position (if the switch is in the Pposition, air bleed is not performed).2. Insert transparent vinyl tube (2) onto the tip of transmissionair bleeder (1). Put the other end of the tubeinto container (3) filled with hydraulic oil.3. One person moves travel transmission shift lever (4)from the D to L position and vice versa four to fivetimes. Then, hold the shift lever in the D position.4. While holding the shift lever in the D position, otherperson loosens air bleeder (1) to allow hydraulic oil todischarge along with air bubbles. Tighten air bleeder(1).5.
