MAINTENANCEBleed Air from Fuel SystemAir in the fuel system may cause engine problems suchas hard-to-start, or irregular operation. Be sure to bleedair from the fuel system after running the fuel tank dry,draining water from the water separator, or replacing thefuel filter element.Air Bleeding Procedures1. Check that plug (3) on the top of water separator anddrain plug (4) are tight.2. Check that stop valve (5) on the bottom of fuel tank isopen position.3. Loosen fuel filter air bleed plug (6). Repeat pushingfeed pump (7) up and down until no more air bubblescan be seen in the discharged fuel.NOTE: When bleeding air, do not loosen plug (3) onthe top of water separator (2). Failure to do soprevents air from being bled.4. Tighten fuel filter air bleed plug (6). Repeat pushingfeed pump (7) up and down until feed pump (7 becomesheavy to move. Tighten feed pump (7).5.
