MAINTENANCEG. FUEL SYSTEM1Recommended FuelUse high quality DIESEL FUEL only (JIS K-2204) (ASTM2-D). Kerosene must NOT be used.Refueling1. Park the machine on a level surface.2. Lower the bucket to the ground.3. Turn the auto-idle switch off.Turn the brake mode switch to P (parking) position.IMPORTANT: The turbocharger may be damaged if theengine is not properly shut down.MCBB-01-0124. Run the engine at slow idle speed without load forfive minutes.5. Stop the engine. Remove the key from the keyswitch.6. Pull the pilot control shut-off lever to the LOCK position.2CAUTION: Handle fuel carefully. Shut the engineoff before fueling. Do not smoke while you fill thefuel tank or work on fuel system.M157-07-1857. Check fuel level gauge (3) or fuel gauge (1) of themonitor panel. Stop fillingwhen a yellow mark on fuel level gauge (3) becomesvisible. Be sure to position the fuel service nozzle sothat any part of the nozzle does not obstruct rising ofthe float-type fuel level gauge (3).9. Reinstall filter cap (2) on the filler tube. Be sure tolock filter cap (2) with the key to prevent the cap frombeing lost as well as to prevent vandalism.7-56
