Referto the manufacture’s owner’s manual for operating procedures.8.1.11 Air ConditioningThe Air Conditioning system is 120 volt (220 overseas)AC powered and powered from the AC DistributionPanel.The cooling water pump is controlled by a relay at thecompressor and is energized when the Air ConditioningCompressor comes on.You can consult the Arrangement Illustration at the end ofthis section for location information, or see the MechanicalArrangement in the Boating Safety Section. The WaterSystems will show you the Pick-up and Strainer for thissystem.Figure 8.6The circuit breakers for the battery chargers are locatedon the AC Distribution Panel.8.1.9 Water Heater! CAUTION !Be certain the water heater is full of water and doesnot contain air. If the water heater is not full of water,damage to the heating elements may result whenelectrical power is turned on to the unit.The water heater use and function is described in theWater Systems Section.The water heater is powered by the AC DistributionPanel. It is much the same as an electric water heater inyour home except in this case, the heater uses 120 volt(220 overseas), but it uses elements to heat the waterto a specified temperature. Consult the manufacturer’sdocumentation for any internal information about thewater heater.8.1.10 MicrowaveThe microwave is powered with the 120 volt (220 overseas)power through the breaker marked “Microwave.”There is a 120 volt (220 overseas) receptacle behind themicrowave that it is plugged into. This outlet is not partof the GFI circuit. It is protected by the breaker on theMDP.It is very important for you to read and understand theoperation and the maintenance for the systems or componentsin your AC Electric System. This will save failureof components or systems, as well as, make your boat asafer, more enjoyable investment.Note: When using air conditioning system with otherappliances power up the air conditioner first.! CAUTION !Always make certain that the pick-up and dischargevalves for the Air Conditioning System are openedbefore using. Failure to do so will cause permanentdamage to your compressor. Also, be certain thatthe strainer is clean. See the Water Systems sectionfor details on cleaning the Strainers.8.1.11.1 Air Conditioning System Operation1. Connect shore power cord.2. Check the air conditioner sea strainer (in bilge fwd ofengine box). Clean if necessary.3. Open raw water pickup seacock (in bilge fwd of enginebox).4. Open raw water discharge seacock (port fed v-berthcompartment.5. Turn on AC main breaker on AC Distribution Panel.6. Turn on air conditioner breaker.7. Turn on unit at air control panel and set temperature8.6
