<strong>Hunter</strong> e36 • DC ElectricDC Electric SystemsThis section will provide you with the information necessaryto understand and operate your DC Electrical Systems.It is not the scope of this manual to educate you on repair,or extending the electrical system. We cannot educateyou in the principals of basic electricity. The scope of yourmanual is to provide you with the basic information youwill need for safety, operation, and maintenance of thesesystems.! WARNING !Do not rely on the information in this manual as a repairguide, as always only competent electrical servicepersonnel should attempt to repair any electricalequipment or extension of the electrical systems.To do so would risk electrical shock, or damage tothe boats systems or components.7.1 DC Power Systems & ComponentsThe DC Power Systems & components consists of thefollowing:••••••••••••••••••••••BatteriesBattery Switch Panel12 Volt DC PanelLightingLPG StoveRefrigeratorTank IndicatorPumpsShower SumpBlowerStereo (Option)MaceratorVHF RadioWindlass (Option)InstrumentsGPS (Option)TV/DVD (Option)HeadGenerator StarterEngine StarterCO MonitorsFire Extinguishing Systemswitches, breakers, fuses, panels, chargers, grounding,and the components that are powered by the DC electricalsystem and their operation.7.2 Power Supply Equipment &Components7.2.1 BatteriesThe batteries installed in your boat have been selectedfor their ability to furnish starting power based on enginestsrting requirements, as well as their ability to powerthe DC components attached to the electrical system.See Table 1 for the recommended batteries for yourboat.! DANGER !Batteries contain Sulfuric Acid and can cause severepersonal injury if mishandled.Avoid contact with eyes, skin, or clothing. In case ofcontact, flush with water at least 15 minutes.If swallowed, drink large quantities of water or Milkof Magnesia, beaten egg, or vegetable oil and getmedical attention immediately.! WARNING !Charging batteries produces gasses which can explodeif ignited.Explosion can shatter a battery.Battery acid can cause severe personal injury suchas blindness.Keep flame, spark, and smoking materials away frombatteries while charging. Charge in a well ventilatedarea.! WARNING !Batteries contain a large amount of potentialelectrical energy!Extreme care must taken when working withbatteries.An improper connection to a battery can releaseenough energy to cause severe personal injury orfire.This section will be separated into categories of PowerSupply Equipment and related Components such as7.2The DC System derives its power from two separatebattery banks.
