<strong>Hunter</strong> e36 • Documents and FormsYour <strong>Hunter</strong> dealer completes the Pre-DeliveryInspection Report (Fig. 2.1) before you take deliveryof your boat. It is the dealer’s responsibility to both youand to <strong>Hunter</strong> to give your boat a final inspection. Thepurpose of this inspection is to assure proper adjustmentand operation of the entire vessel. Your dealer shouldprovide you with the Pre-Delivery Inspection Report atthe time of delivery.<strong>Hunter</strong> will not pay warranty costs for items that shouldhave been covered in the pre-delivery service inspectionand recorded on the Pre-Delivery Inspection Report.Owners must coordinate with the dealer to insure<strong>Hunter</strong> warranty registration is completed and returnedto <strong>Hunter</strong>.Inserted at the end of this section are several recordsyou will find helpful.Use the BOAT RECORD (Fig. 2.2) to record all importantinformation about your boat and its equipment. Afteryour dealer has recorded all the information, remove therecord from your Owner’s <strong>Manual</strong> and store in a safeplace. Do not keep this form aboard your boat.The FLOAT PLAN (Fig 2.4) provides a record of yourdestination, departure and return times, boat description,passenger list, and other information about the tripyou have planned. At the bottom of the form is space forlisting emergency phone numbers in case your returnis delayed past the expected time. It also has space forindicating information about the person filling the report.Leave the completed form ashore with a responsibleperson. We recommend you make several copies of thisform each boating season to make sure you have a goodsupply.The MAINTENANCE LOG (Fig 2.5) helps to keep maintenancerecords in one place. Using this log will allowyou to track maintenance work that has been completedand to determine when maintenance is required. Yourdealer will also find this information helpful. If you decideto sell your boat, the maintenance record will make yourboat seeable because it tells prospective buyers that youhave taken good care of your boat.The Accident Report, No one likes to think abouthaving a boating accident, but boating accidents dohappen. You must file an accident report after a boatingaccident just as you must file an accident report after anautomobile accident. A copy of the U.S. Coast GuardAccident Report is included at the end of this section.You can get more copies of the report by calling the U.S.Coast Guard Boating Safety Hotline at 1-800-368-5674.You must file this report with the U.S. Coast Guard within48 hours after an accident resulting in one of thefollowing:A person disappears from a vessel under circumstancesthat indicate death or injuryPersonal injury requiring medical treatment beyond firstaidDamage to the vessel or property damageComplete loss of the vesselState statutes determine whether you must file anaccident report in this case. An accident report must befiled if the damage exceeds a threshold dollar value asestablished by the states, the threshold is $100-$200.Call the Boating Safety Hotline (800-368-5647) to verifythe threshold for a particular state.Note: State and local agencies may also have accidentreporting requirements. Check with local enforcementagencies or with your local <strong>Hunter</strong> dealer regarding localrequirements.All <strong>Hunter</strong> boats are built in compliance with applicableUnited States Coast Guard regulations and recommendationsat the time of construction.<strong>Hunter</strong> boats comply with the standards developed bythe National Marine Manufactures Association (NMMA)for its Boat Certification Program.The locator drawings will help you find the location ofdevices and equipment.NOTE: Efforts have been made to make the drawings inthis manual consistent with production. However, in theeffort to improve this vessel, modifications have beenmade in the design that may date some of the drawingsin this manual.On the next few pages you will find sample formsfor some of the issues dealing with your new boat.Familiarize yourself with these forms, use them, they canbe very handy.2.2
