It is an organization solely dedicated torescuing and rebuilding the lives of the destitute and dyingpeople of the streets. The Home of Hope is a centre of theNew Ark Mission of India.Today, the home accommodates and cares for more than200 residents who have been rescued from the mostinhumane and unhygienic circumstances. It is a place ofsolace and shelter for people who are suffering from AIDS,Cancer and Kidney failures besides many who are mentallychallenged. These residents who were once disowned bytheir families and doomed to fend for them have found anew reason to live. These 170 residents would have been astatistic on the list of Bangalore’s unidentified dead if Rajahad not reached them.The New Ark Mission of India has marked a turning pointfor the destitute people of India. It has laid a true foundationfor the transformation of lives of those on the streets. Weare greatly honored to present this website to bring to lightthe work of this organization to a local and a globalaudience.Our AimTo rescue the destitute and the dying people from thestreets.To enrich their lives with hope and purpose.To provide them shelter, care and medication.To impart education for children rescued from the streets.To rescue 1000 lives by the year 2010.To empower such individuals with vocational training so asto enable them to become self-supporting and self reliant.To improve basic amenities offered to the residents so thatthey would lead a fulfilled, noble life and death.To catalyze overall development of the homeless people,NAMI hopes to collaborate with mainstream institutions(both corporate and not-for-profit organizations) that arewilling to provide support through finance, medical care,education and volunteers to help support the mission andvision of the organization.To open the 'Home of Hope' Centre in each and every stateacross the country.To transform the nation with greater and stronger values ofservice towards the underprivileged.• PROJECT’S ACTIVITIES The Work: Bringing people from the streets into their NewHome of Hope:Raja and his team start the day in their vehicles, an‘autorikshaw’ and an ‘ambulance’ (Rescue Chariots) andbring ailing people from the streets. The local people in thearea also inform Raja about those in distress and who needhelp immediately. The Police Department of Bangalore andthe Hoysala Police patrol squads work closely with theorganization by identifying and bringing destitute peoplefrom the streets to the Home of Hope. Every month at least10-15 people are rescued and brought to the home.
