In pursuance of the aboveobjectives. Pratham Mysore has been buildingeffective partnerships with community, statutorybodies and the private sector to successfullydeliver programs of education at Preschool andprimary levels touching the lives of over 16,000children during 2008-09.• COMMUNITY CONTEXT Pratham interacts with people in narrow lanes ofthe urban Mysore whose children have no accessto the quality education with their parents oftenengaged in a variety of occupations to earn theirdaily wages as painters, hawkers, auto drivers,vegetable vendors, collectors of old newspapers,and their women folk supplementing income byrolling beedies and incense sticks. Pratham Mysorehas also extended its activities to rural andinterior locations in the district of Mysore workingtowards providing qualitative, need basedPreschool and in school education. Theseprogrammes are based on the years of research andstudies by committed educationists and socialworkers through innovative educational models.• VOLUNTEER’S REQUIREMENTS Preferable a female volunteers with a flair to workwith little children in slums and villages andworking knowledge of English.• VOLUNTEER’S TASKS The volunteers can attach themselves to a learningcentre where in they can interact with a small groupof children. For a Preschool the group’s age will be3-6 yrs while for In school or library the averageage group of children will be from 6 year to 14years. They can participate directly in teaching oralso in preparation of Teaching and LearningMaterials, or in working for creating a data baseetc.,• HOST SITUATION Food and accommodation will be provide in hostfamily
