We focus on meticulous academicinstruction that enables a child to develop the coreinterest towards Education. Especially in languageand math skills. Ensuring literacy for all children atan early age is a key priority.Providing access to English, as well as foreignlanguage learning along with computer skills willgive an added advantage to our children whileplacing in formal school.The Lovedale educational programs include with astrong local point on art, music, technology, lifeskills, character development and service learningprojects.• PROJECT’S ACTIVITIES Lovedale supports a child till graduation includesprofessional degrees.Our children are supported with• Non- Formal Education• E-learning• Access to world class library books• Scholarships for higher studies.• Job placement assistance• Life skills.Love dale Foundation is a group of like-minded,committed individuals working towards theupliftment to underprivileged Indian children byproviding access to quality education. We aresecular, without any religious, political, corporateinfluence.• COMMUNITY CONTEXT The organization is located at Southern part ofBangalore. It’s situated 15 km away fromBangalore city. The localities of area Majorityfamilies are middle level economical groups. Thepeople are helpful to the institution.• VOLUNTEER’S REQUIREMENTS There is no bias towards volunteer’s gender; bothmale and female are welcome. All volunteers mustbe above the age of eighteen. They should beenthusiastic, adaptable and honest and above allhave an open mind. They should arrive with thethought in mind about how best they can contributeto the project. In the volunteers daily work therewill be contact with children so a desire to workwith children is beneficial. Our location is veryrural and we live in a traditional manner sovolunteers should be prepared to leave behind someof their home comforts that they must be used to. If
volunteers have certain skills that could be usefulto one specific department, then we will utilizetheir services there, such skills which are desirableand helpful but not essential are; experience inhealth care, teaching experience especially Englishas a foreign language, experience working withchildren and anyone with good office skills arealways welcome.• VOLUNTEER’S TASKS • Caring for children, studding withchildren, communicate with local, livein a totally new environment (Indianvillage) chance of learning localLanguage.• Volunteers are basically seen as aadditional workers, the whole project• Would also work without them, but wouldalso be work.• Volunteer do: draping and picking upfrom the school, washing cloth, helpingwith home work, help with preparation fortest, gardening, caring for children (including getting them ready for theactivity of the day, playing.)• HOST SITUATION Food & accommodation will be provide in hostproject
