VIVOTEKAn event is an action initiated by a u<strong>se</strong>r-defined trigger source; it is the causal arrangement of thefollowing three elements: Trigger, Event Schedule, and Action.TriggerThis is the cau<strong>se</strong> or stimulus which defines when to trigger the Network Camera. The trigger source canbe configured to u<strong>se</strong> the Network Camera’s built-in motion detection mechanism or external digital inputdevices.There are <strong>se</strong>veral choices of trigger sources as shown below. Select the items to display the detailedconfiguration options.■ Video motion detectionThis option makes u<strong>se</strong> of the built-in motion detection mechanism as a trigger source. To enable thisfunction, you need to configure a Motion Detection Window first. For more information, plea<strong>se</strong> refer toMotion detection on page 49 for details.■ PeriodicallyThis option allows the Network Camera to trigger periodically for every other defined minute. Up to 999minutes are allowed.■ Digital inputThis option allows the Network Camera to u<strong>se</strong> an external digital input device or <strong>se</strong>nsor as a triggersource. Depending on your application, there are many choices of digital input devices on the marketwhich helps to detect changes in temperature, vibration, sound and light, etc.■ System bootThis option triggers the Network Camera when the power to the Network Camera is disconnected.■ Recording notifyThis option allows the Network Camera to trigger when the recording disk is full or when recordingstarts to rewrite older data.
