Motor brake and stop operation4.14.2 Stop selection (Pr. 250)Used to select the stopping method (deceleration to a stop or coasting) when the start signal turns off. Used tostop the motor with a mechanical brake, etc. together with switching off of the start signal. You can also select the operations of the start signals (STF/STR). (Refer to page 211 for start signal selection)ParameterNumberName Initial Value Setting Range250 Stop selection 99990 to 100s1000s to 1100s99998888DescriptionStart signal (STF/STR)Stop operation(Refer to page 211)STF signal: Forwardrotation startSTR signal: Reverserotation startSTF signal: Start signalSTR signal: Forward/reverse signalSTF signal: Forwardrotation startSTR signal: Reverserotation startSTF signal: Start signalSTR signal: Forward/reverse signalThe motor is coasted to astop when the preset timeelapses after the startsignal is turned off.Themotor is coasted to a stop(Pr. 250 - 1000)s after thestart signal is turned off. When the start signal isturned off, the motordecelerates to stop.Output frequency(Hz)StartsignalRUNsignalOutput frequency(Hz)Start signalRUN signalONONONONDeceleration startswhen start signal turns offOFFDeceleration time(Time set in Pr. 8, etc.)DC brakeTimeOFFOutput is shut off when settime elapses after start signalturns offPr.250Motor coasts to stopTimeOFFOFF(1) Decelerate the motor to a stop⋅ Set Pr. 250 to "9999" (initial value) or "8888".⋅ The motor decelerates to a stop when the startsignal (STF/STR) turns off.(2) Coast the motor to a stop⋅ Use Pr. 250 to set the time from when the start signalturns off until the output is shut off. When any of"1000" to "1100" is set, the output is shut off after(Pr. 250 − 1000)s.⋅ The output is shut off when the time set in Pr. 250has elapsed after the start signal had turned off. Themotor coasts to a stop.⋅ The RUN signal turns off when the output stops.REMARKSStop selection is invalid when the following functions are activated.⋅ Position control (Pr. 419 = 0)⋅ Power failure stop function (Pr. 261)⋅ PU stop (Pr. 75)⋅ Deceleration stop because of fault definition (Pr. 875)⋅ Deceleration stop because of communication error (Pr. 502)⋅ Offline auto tuning (with motor running)⋅ Emergency stop by LONWORKS communication⋅ When setting of Pr. 250 is not 9999 nor 8888, acceleration/deceleration is performed according to the frequency command, until start signal is OFF and output is shutoff.⋅CAUTIONWhen the start signal is turned on again during motor coasting, the motor starts at Pr. 13 Starting frequency.♦ Parameters referred to ♦Pr. 7 Acceleration time , Pr. 8 Deceleration time Refer to page 155Pr. 13 Starting frequency Refer to page 157188
