Metal and Nonmetal National Mine Rescue Contest Rules

GENERAL RULESFOR CONDUCTING THE CONTEST1. The con test will be com prised of four in di vid ual events,in clud ing a Mine Res cue Team com pe ti tion (two-daypre lim i nary and one day fi nal), an ap pa ra tus bench mancon test, a multi-gas in stru ment con test, and a first aidcon test. Each event will in clude a writ ten ex am i na tion.2. Con test of fi cials will be com prised of the Chief Judge,Con test Di rec tor, Con test Co or di na tor, Ap peals Com mit -tee, field judges, writ ten exam judges, first aid con testjudges, ap pa ra tus bench judges, multi-gas in stru mentjudges, mine man ag ers, mine at ten dants, and iso la tionof fi cials.3. There will be no lim i ta tions as to the num ber of teams ad -mit ted from any county, state, dis trict, com pany, or or ga -ni za tion. There will be a $500.00 en try fee for each teamen tered. The en try fee will in clude up to 10 ban quettick ets. Ad di tional ban quet tick ets will be avail able forpur chase dur ing reg is tra tion.4. All mem bers of teams must be bona fide em ploy ees of themetal and non metal min ing in dus try and meet the re quire -ments set forth in 30 CFR Part 49.5. Mine res cue teams may reg is ter up to eight team mem -bers. For the pur pose of first aid, bench, and gas com pe ti -tion, a team mem ber may not par tic i pate in more than oneevent and each team will only be per mit ted to com pete ineach event once. Ap pa ra tus and Gas Bench men shallcom pete with the breath ing ap pa ra tus and multi-gas in -stru ment that their teams will be us ing for the Field Com -pe ti tion. For the pur poses of iden ti fi ca tion, par tic i pantsof the Field, Gas, Bench and First Aid Con tests must bedressed uni formly, com plete with team logo. This in -cludes the test ing pro cess. Once reg is tered, no changeswill be per mit ted with out the per mis sion of the Con testDirector.1
