The bench con tes tants will be pro vided with one fullyas sem bled BG-4, an RZ-25 tester, defogging so lu tion,leak de tec tor fluid, and all parts nec es sary to com pletethe prob lem(s). Only tools, ap pa ra tus, and test ingequip ment pro vided by the judge will be used bycon tes tants to work the prob lem. Bugs used in thecom pe ti tion will be con sis tent with all mod els of theapparatus.6. To tal dis counts of the writ ten and monthly ap pa ra tuschecks/prob lem di ag no sis will de ter mine the win ner. Inthe event of a tie, to tal time will be the first tie breaker.The writ ten test will be the sec ond tie breaker. Thirdtie breaker will be the time to find the first de fi ciency.7. At the com ple tion of the Monthly Ap pa ra tus Checks/Prob lem Di ag no sis, there will be a five-min ute re view,at which time the judge will dis cuss the dis countsin clud ing the writ ten test. Af ter the re view, both thejudge and con tes tant will sign the judge’s score card.All ap peals must be in writ ing and sub mit ted within onehour of the five-min ute re view.8. The Bench Con test Di rec tor’s rul ing will be fi nal.9. When un planned de fi cien cies are en coun tered in theap pa ra tus, the judges will no tify the con tes tants that thede fi ciency is not part of the prob lem. The con tes tantwill turn his/her back while the judge stops the clockand cor rects the de fi ciency. If the de fi cien cies arecaused by the con tes tant, the clock will not be stopped.10. One trophy will be awarded for each three contestantsen tered in the Bench man’s Con test.50
