Don the ap pa ra tus, tighten shoul der straps, buckle andad just waist strap, con nect and ad just chest strap.4. Place facemask har ness over head, cen ter chin in chincup, hold facemask to face and snug bot tom (chin)straps first, then the up per (tem ple) straps, and then thetop (head) strap. A poor facemask seal will cause a sig -nificant decrease in duration.5. Per form neg a tive pres sure check by block ing the in ha la -tion port with hand and in hal ing. If you can not in hale,mask fit is good and ex ha la tion valve is OK.6. Per form pos i tive pres sure check by cov er ing the ex ha la -tion port with hand and ex hal ing.
