JUDGING1. All judges must suc cess fully com plete a train ing courseas pre scribed by the Con test Di rec tor per the in stru mentthey are go ing to judge.2. Judges must stand clear of con tes tants.3. Prior to each con tes tant, judges shall in sure that the nextcon tes tant’s in stru ment con tains only the de fi cien cies asper the planned prob lem.4. Af ter each con tes tant, judges will eval u ate that con tes -tant’s in stru ment and con firm scor ing and as sess ad di -tional dis counts as nec es sary. Gas concentrations willbe ver i fied by the gas test judge us ing a sep a rate in stru -ment.5. When un planned de fi cien cies are en coun tered, judgesshall stop the clock, in struct the con tes tant to turnhis/her back to the bench area, at which time the judgewill cor rect the un planned de fi cien cies. Judges shall in -struct the con tes tant that upon turn ing back to face thebench, the clock will start. If the de fi cien cies are causedby the con tes tant the clock will not be stopped.6. Af ter com ple tion of the bench prob lem and gas test ing,there will be a five min ute re view, at which time thejudges will dis cuss dis counts. Af ter the re view, bothjudge and con tes tant will sign the judge’s score card inthe spaces pro vided. All ap peals must be in writ ing andsub mit ted within 30 min utes of the five-min ute re view.7. The multi-gas instrument contest appeals committee rulingwill be fi nal.47
