BY-LAWSAMERICAN BRITTANY CLUB, INC.Approved December 2, 1975ARTICLE ISection 1: Membership: Membership in the Club shall consist of the following classes: Active, Associate, andLife.a. An Active Member shall be any person interested in the improvement of the <strong>Breed</strong> of Brittanys. He shallbe in good standing with the <strong>National</strong> Kennel <strong>Clubs</strong>. All Active Members of Regional <strong>Clubs</strong> in goodstanding may be Active Members of the Parent Club.b. Any person may become an Associate Member, as his own choice of membership, when a member of hisimmediate family is an Active Member. He shall not have the privilege of voting or holding office in theParent Club, but may be appointed to committees. He shall be in good standing with the <strong>National</strong> Kennel<strong>Clubs</strong>.c. Life Membership may be conferred upon any person who has rendered notable service to the <strong>Breed</strong> ofBrittanys or The American Brittany Club, by a two-thirds (2/3) vote of the members present at an AnnualMeeting of the General Membership, acting on a petition signed by at least fifty (50) Active Members. LifeMembership provides full privileges of membership in the Parent Club, but does not carry with it obligationof duties or dues. Those persons, upon whom Honorary Memberships have been conferred pursuant to By-Laws provisions previously in effect, shall be Life Members.Section 2: Termination of Membership: Membership in this Club may be terminated as follows:a. By voluntary resignation, tendered in writing to the Executive Secretary;b. By voluntary resignation, for failure to pay annual membership dues.c. By the Board of Directors, when any member is terminated from privileges by The American KennelClub for conduct prejudicial to the best interests of the <strong>Breed</strong> of Brittanys, field trials, shows or exhibitions.Section 3: Suspension of Membership: Membership in this Club may be suspended as follows:a. By the Board of Directors, when any member(s) is suspended of privileges by The American KennelClub for conduct prejudicial to the best interests of the <strong>Breed</strong> of Brittanys, field trials, shows or exhibitions.The period of suspension shall be of like period and to run concurrently with that assessed by The AmericanKennel Club.b. By the Board of Directors, should the Board sustain the suspension of any member from membership to aRegional Club, through due process by Officers and Members of such Club, for conduct prejudicial to thebest interests of the <strong>Breed</strong> of Brittanys, field trials, shows and exhibitions. Any period of suspension shallbe of like period and to run concurrently with that assessed by the Regional Club.ARTICLE IISection 1: Regional Club Formation: Any group of ten (10) or more owners of Brittanys or persons interested inthe development and improvement of the <strong>Breed</strong>, of whom not more than two (2) such individuals are members ofthe same household, shall be eligible to organize a Member Regional Club.4
