ABC POLICY FOR REGIONAL FIELD TRIAL DATES, COORDINATORS DUTIES ANDSCHEDULING POLICYThis is the <strong>policy</strong> for the administration and organization of field trial dates by the Field Trial DatesCommittee:1. All communications regarding field trial dates scheduling between regional <strong>club</strong>s and dates coordinatorsmust be in writing and signed by an officer of the <strong>club</strong> making the request or inquiry.2. Regional <strong>Clubs</strong> shall be awarded dates in accordance with AKC Rules for Field Trials & StandardProcedures for Pointing <strong>Breed</strong>s, Chapter 3, Section 2:"Each member <strong>club</strong> or association which has held a field trial or field trials in anyone year shallhave first right to claim the corresponding dates for its trial or trials to be held in the nextsucceeding year."3. Regional <strong>club</strong>s locked in on grounds that are only available on given dates will be given specialconsideration in date scheduling.4. New <strong>club</strong>s shall agree in writing that they will accept one of the open dates or the dates assigned to themby the Regional Dates Coordinator for their spring and fall trials when applying for ABC provisional status.Open dates for spring and fall field trials will be made available to new <strong>club</strong>s on request by the regionaldate’s coordinator.5. The following considerations should be the <strong>policy</strong> used to determine that two (2) <strong>club</strong>s, within a region,should be allowed conflicting dates:A. Location of two <strong>club</strong>s and reason for conflictB. Availability of grounds for conflicting <strong>club</strong>s - exact location of the trial grounds must befurnished by both <strong>club</strong>s to the Regional Dates Coordinator.C. In order to determine what effect a conflict will have on the entries of each <strong>club</strong> – the regionaldates coordinator may require both <strong>club</strong>s to furnish a list of the number of entries for each stake runin the spring and fall trials held just previous to the date in question along with the names of eachprofessional trainer that attended those trials with the number of dogs run by that trainer,D. Availability of dogs to insure each <strong>club</strong> enough entries to existE. A <strong>club</strong> located in one region shall not encroach into another region to run its trial or trialswithout first obtaining permission from the regional date’s coordinators of both regions.F. If <strong>club</strong>s within the same region are not satisfied with the decision of the date’s coordinator; the<strong>club</strong> may appeal as follows:6. APPEAL PROCEDUREA. Contact the regional date’s coordinator by phone followed by a letter within the time periodgiven in the notice. Send a copy to the <strong>National</strong> Dates Chairman.B. The Regional Dates Chairman shall notify the <strong>National</strong> Dates Chairman in writing of therequested change. If the trial dates are not satisfactory worked out with the Regional DatesChairman, then the <strong>club</strong> may appeal directly to the <strong>National</strong> Dates Chairman.C. If a <strong>club</strong>'s trial dates problem is not satisfactorily resolved after following these steps, the <strong>club</strong>has an automatic appeal to the three Directors within its region for decision.27
